March 2018 Executive Committee Meeting Summary
CFMA’s Executive Committee convened on March 8-9, 2018, in Colorado Springs, CO to discuss strategic initiatives and projects that continue to shape the future of our Association. CFMA’s 2017-18 Chairman Samantha Hutchison, CCIFP, welcomed Wes Butorac, President, Colorado Chapter and Chris Rea, President, Pikes Peak Chapter, who provided insight to their chapters’ successes and challenges.
The Executive Committee approved the 2018-19 budget and based on the projected financial success for this current fiscal year, agreed to extend the STAR Program an additional year and designate $300,000 to the reserve fund. Executive Committee members also approved the standard resolution of authority and the 2018-19 Committee leadership. The mega issue for this meeting addressed how CFMA can provide more value to members of more than 15 years, to which the group provided strategic input.
Other meeting highlights included:
The group discussed the execution of a membership value survey to be deployed in June 2018; the last time this survey was conducted was in 2011.
- CFMA confirmed the formation of a Relief Fund Task Force to review and develop guidelines for various relief fund efforts (e.g., use of funds, donations) that may arise throughout the year. Scott Baxter has agreed to chair the task force.
- Executive Committee members were encouraged to participate in a new task force that will recommend ways in which CFMA can provide more value to members of more than 15 years.
The Chapter Resource Committee will review and provide recommendations regarding assistance we provide to chapters in distress.
