Executive Committee Meeting Summary – December 9, 2016, San Francisco, CA

CFMA’s Executive Committee convened on Friday, December 9, 2016, at the San Francisco Marriott Marquis to discuss strategic initiatives and projects which continue to shape the future of our Association.  Chairman Ken Chiccotella was pleased to welcome Sacramento Chapter President Elease Terry to the meeting, whose participation and perspective as a Chapter leader was an invaluable addition to the meeting.

The Executive Committee reviewed the Strategic Plan accomplishments to date for this fiscal year.  Progress reports provided by the CFMA Committees were reviewed and discussed with focus on delivering value to members through new programs, new publications, and more intermediate and advanced level educational courses.

Other meeting highlights include:

CFMA Peer Groups Program Approved for Launch in April 2017

  • The committee approved the proposed CFMA Peer Groups program for an association-wide rollout with the new membership year in April 2017.  Be sure to check out the January edition of CFMA Bottom Lines and your email in the coming weeks for additional details.

CFMA’s 95th Chapter Approved

  • The committee approved the official formation of the Oklahoma CFMA Club – CFMA’s 95th Chapter!

Construction Industry Alliance for Suicide Prevention

  • CFMA continues to be at the forefront of creating a zero-suicide industry.  Along with the 18 partner organizations who have joined the Alliance, we are committed to disseminating information and resources for suicide prevention and mental health promotion in construction.  A free webinar introducing the topic of suicide prevention, and how you can be a part of the solution, will be held on February 28, 2017.  Details to follow.  

Principal Partner Presentations

  • The committee had the pleasure of welcoming Principal Partner representatives Maury Plumlee (Viewpoint) and Tim Wilson (BKD, LLP).  The leadership exchanged ideas with our principal partners to learn more about their continued commitment to CFMA and our industry.
