The health and wellbeing of members, exhibitors, staff, and other stakeholders is our top priority. Due to the growing concern around the coronavirus (COVID-19), and in alignment with the best practices laid out by the CDC, WHO, and federal and local governments, CFMA has made the difficult decision to cancel the 2020 CFMA Annual Conference & Exhibition. Continuing the Legacy & Strengthening the Brand

Melissa Rutledge, CCIFP
Melissa Rutledge, CCIFP, Incoming Chairman

I am truly humbled to have the opportunity to serve as the 2019-20 Chairman of the Institute of Certified Construction Industry Financial Professionals (ICCIFP). Given the tremendous talent that precedes me in this role, I have large shoes to fill. The value I have received from my certification and volunteer involvement has solidified my passion for the ICCIFP and value of certification.

I want to thank Herbert Brownett for jumping in to assist with the Chairman role this past year. He embodies the spirit of a volunteer, what it means to give back, and is a true mentor and friend. I also want to thank Executive Director Veronica Whitehead who, alongside the ICCIFP’s Board of Trustees, is continuing to raise the bar for CCIFP certification.

There are too many individuals to name whose contributions and support have helped the ICCIFP uphold the standard in construction financial management certification. They have inspired, trained, and motivated me along the way.

With an enthusiastic group of Officers and Board of Trustees, we will be working hard to keep up the momentum built over the past year. My goal this year is to continue the legacy and strengthen the ICCIFP brand with their help.

We will also continue to strengthen the alignment and partnership with CFMA and other industry organizations to increase the awareness and value of the CCIFP certification. The ICCIFP is dedicated to the highest standards and best practices and, as such, we will strive for the CCIFP certification to be widely recognized as the standard for the construction industry financial professional.

Some specific goals this year will include:

  • Updating the exam
  • Implementing strategic planning
  • Improving CFMA chapter involvement
  • Broadening involvement from our members to leverage their expertise

The acronym T.E.A.M. – Together, Everyone Achieves More – will be a guiding principle this year. Through involvement from our members and partnership with CFMA, we will strengthen the CCIFP certification and increase the value of both organizations.

Please feel free to reach out to me, I look forward to hearing from you this year!
