Executive Committee Meeting Summary – December 15, 2017, Charleston, SC

CFMA’s Executive Committee convened on Friday, December 15, 2017, to discuss strategic initiatives and projects that continue to shape the future of our Association.  Chairman Samantha Hutchison, CCIFP, was pleased to welcome Mike Trammell, CCIFP, President of CFMA’s South Carolina Chapter, who provided insight to the Chapter’s successes and challenges.

The Executive Committee approved the Heavy/Highway and Specialty Trade subcommittees as new Ad Hoc committees effective April 1, 2018. Executive Committee members also provided strategic input to the mega issue question: How can CFMA assist CFMs in becoming more strategic in their role within their companies?

Updates from CFMA’s Principal Partners
Maury Plumlee, VP Marketing, Viewpoint Construction Software discussed Viewpoint’s development of Big Data, and Tim Wilson, CPA, CCIFP, Partner, BKD, LLP discussed the success of the CFMA Peer Group Program for which they are currently providing facilitation.

Leadership Development Task Force
The task force presented a proposal that outlined developing leaders within CFMA along with developing a more formal leadership tracking system. 

Changing Workforce Task Force
The task force reviewed its development of an online survey that will be released in January to CFMA members in an attempt to gain more knowledge on the current generations and their preferences in the workplace.
