Executive Committee Meeting Summary – March 25, 2016, Asheville, NC
CFMA’s Executive Committee convened on Friday, March 25th at The Biltmore to discuss strategic initiatives and projects which continue to shape the future of our Association. Chairman Brad Robinson welcomed two local Chapter Presidents to the meeting: Courtney Channel (Charlotte) and Linda Cowart (South Carolina). Their participation and perspective as Chapter leaders was an invaluable addition to the meeting.
The Executive Committee adopted the Standard Resolution of Authority for 2016-17, which authorizes the Officers to conduct business on behalf of CFMA. Chairman Ken Chiccotella, Vice-Chairman Samantha Hutchison, Treasurer Joe McLaughlin, and Secretary Asif Choudhury took office as the newly elected slate effective April 1, 2016.
In addition to approving the 2016-17 fiscal year budget, the Executive Committee also reviewed the Strategic Plan accomplishments in 2015-16. A few highlights in each of the four goal areas are:
- Peer Groups Launched
- CFM’s Tax Guide Completed
- Financial Benchmarker Improved
- Owner-focused Building Profits Approved for 2016
- Education Partnerships & Discounts with Multiple Organizations Continued
- STAR Program Continued & Chapter Start-Up Grant Approved
- Spring Creek Presented Cost-free for Chapter Leaders
- Federal Disputes Study Completed
- Education/Content Partnerships Developed with AGC, IRMI, TUG, PHCC, MCAA & NECA
Progress reports were provided by the Operational Committees as well as the International Reach, Peer Group, and Governance Task Forces that are addressing and supporting critical association initiatives in each of these areas. The Executive Committee also proposed some significant changes to the Chapter Connection Program for 2016, with a focus on creating even greater value for chapter leaders.
