CFMA's 2011 Annual Conference & Exhibition

CFMA’s 2011 Annual Conference & Exhibition connects – or reconnects – attendees to the education, resources, and most importantly, the relationships needed to overcome the challenges that exist in our industry.

Reconnect

Definition: To join, link, or fasten together; unite or bind; to cause to be associated, as in a personal or business relationship. This strikes a chord with many of CFMA’s Annual Conference & Exhibition attendees, because Relationships and Friendships are two of CFMA’s Core Values.

What stands out most about each one of CFMA’s Annual Conferences that I have attended in the past decade? The people I have met and the friendships I have established that still exist today.

Part of what I look forward to at each Conference is the opportunity to catch up with my CFMA friends and talk about how they are handling different issues and problems that affect our companies and profession. These friendships not only provide value during the Conference, but also throughout the year, allowing me to reach out to peers for industry specific information, advice, and support.

Reconnecting is an important aspect of the Conference. While most attendees have probably experienced this, some have yet to realize what I’m talking about.

Many great opportunities exist at CFMA’s 2011 Annual Conference & Exhibition on May 14-18 at the
Gaylord Texan Resort in Grapevine, TX. Don’t
miss your chance to “Connect” or “Reconnect”
in 2011 – you won’t regret your decision!

Share Bigger Ideas

The value of CFMA’s Conference also exists in sharing ideas and experiences. As always, CFMA’s Conference features the education that will help you in your role as a CFM:
  • More than 44 sessions for GCs, Heavy/Highway, and Specialty Contractors,
    as well as Associate members
  • Six different tracks of learning
  • Up to 34 CPEs
  • Six Mini-Conferences, including the debut of Liability Insurance, which is approved for up to seven hours of insurance CEs

Keeping up with past Conferences, this year’s General Sessions offer relevant, timely how-to solutions for the areas important to your company’s performance throughout 2011 and beyond.

General Session I will give us the opportunity to hear from Mark Scharenbroich on Making Connections that Move People, and how we can help our employees and ourselves reignite the passion and connection to our work that will propel us forward in 2011.

In General Session II, Anirban Basu will present Your 19th Nervous Breakdown, with an economic outlook for the year ahead and a discussion about its sustainability. James Spellos, the top-rated speaker from the past two years, will present General Session III on Social Networking and how it affects your everyday business.

To close this year’s Conference, we will hear from Dr. Kenneth Cooper, inventor of “aerobics” fitness, as he shares ideas about The Value of Prevention and how it can reduce healthcare costs, increase productivity, and prolong and improve the quality of life.

Share the Experiences

It is my sincere belief that what you get back in value from CFMA is directly related to the amount of participation that you put into it. So, push your participation beyond reading CFMA Building Profits and attending your local CFMA chapter meetings – experience CFMA’s Annual Conference.

Where else can you get the same high level of expertise from industry peers? What could you learn from other CFMs, and what is that value worth to you and your company? CFMA’s 2011 Annual Conference is your chance to experience CFMA. Whether participating in Conference activities or sharing your professional experiences with colleagues and friends, you can’t beat the experiences at CFMA’s Conference. Take a moment and check out YouTube (http://alturl.com/msida) to see what I’m talking about.

Time and again, CFMA’s Conferences are applauded for the fun and exciting networking opportunities they provide. Participate in CFMA’s Golf Tournament at the only NFL-themed golf club – the Cowboys Golf Club. Then, kick off the Conference at the Welcome Reception, and don’t forget to stop by the Exhibition floor during the trade show hours and enter the prize drawings. And, you won’t want to miss CFMA’s Glass Cactus Event for an evening of live entertainment and dancing.

Discover the Possibilities

If you’ve never attended CFMA’s Annual Conference, what has kept you from doing so?

Are those reasons really worth more than the education and networking opportunities available at the Conference?

Talk to someone you know who has attended a Conference to hear how they came to the decision to attend.

I hope to see you in Texas!
