The Last Frontier
Chapter of the
Construction Financial
Management Association (CFMA)
is a group of
construction financial
professionals in Alaska
meeting on a monthly
basis to address the
membership’s special
interests and
requirements. General
membership is open to
financial employees of
all types of contractors
including general, subs,
developers, and special
trades. Associate
membership is available
to anyone servicing the
industry, such as public
accountants, attorneys,
bankers, material and
equipment suppliers,
insurance agencies,
surety companies,
architects and others.
The Chapter was accepted
in December 2004. In
2006, The Last Frontier
Chapter was awarded the
Chairman’s Excellence
Award and New Chapter of
the Year Award.
The Chairman's
Excellence Award is the
highest honor a chapter
can receive in the
Achievement Category of
CFMA's annual Chapter
Recognition Program
(CRP). Awards are
presented based on
chapter size and
recognizes chapters for
their accomplishments
during the April 1-March
31 fiscal year. Points
are obtained by
completing an objective
scoring form in the
following seven areas:
Member Services,
Membership Development,
Special Events/Projects,
Academic/Student
Liaison,
Communications/Public
Relations, CFMA
Participation, and
Chapter Governance.
For the 2005/2006 fiscal
year, the Last Frontier
Chapter earned 102
points. A chapter of its
size (less than 40
members) needs 60 points
to receive the
Chairman's Excellence
Award. As a tribute
to its extraordinary
progress in its first
full year as a chapter,
Last Frontier also
earned the New Chapter
of the Year Award.
